With the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, so begins the opportunity to purchase the official music for the athletic games. The 18 songs total is now available as a complete digital album or as individual digital song downloads.
Enlightenment – Music for the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games is the title given to the 18 songs total by Various Artists. Celebrating the spirit of the Olympic Games, the 18 songs on Enlightenment and accompanying digital booklet were made available for sample or purchase at iTunes on August 30, 2012 thru Decca Records.
You will find the official soundtrack is mainly songs by the London Symphony Orchestra, with British physicist and author Stephen Hawking starting the album by narration on the song Prologue. In addition to the songs by the London Symphony Orchestra, there are single songs by Barts Choir, The London C, Orbital & Graeae Theatre, Beverley Knight, and Rihanna.
Paralympic officials for now are keeping the Closing Ceremony Songs playlist for 2012 a secret, but there is the likelihood that celebrity superstars Coldplay and Rihanna will be among the artists performing during the Olympic Closing Ceremony.
